The Vgo Educational Robot
The Ruth Cheatham Foundation supports adolescent patients throughout their treatment by providing reading devices, educational assistance, and hospital/school support to enhance and improve the treatment experience. We strive to offer a more relaxed, entertaining hospital environment and ease the stress of illness and treatment.
For some students, attending school isn’t possible
Treatment, extended illnesses, immune deficiencies and other physical challenges prevent a student from physically being able to attend school. School districts try to accommodate these special needs by working to provide on-line courses, in-home tutors, videoconferencing and more. But these are expensive and very limiting since students miss out on the classroom experience and social life that comes with attending school.
With the help of TRCF, now patients at Children’s Health can attend and participate in classroom discussions and share in the social aspects of locker-side chats, lunch period and moving from class to class! This not only keeps patients engaged and on track with their education, it also keeps them connected with their social support networks; giving them hope and encouragement as they battle for their health.
